Riverfront Park video on YouTube

The Parks Department has put up a video on YouTube that shows some visualizations of the Riverfront development and has designers and others discussing the value of the development as well as encouraging support.

Biking facilities added to Riverfront park

Cincinnati is making real strides toward meeting the needs of alternative commuters with the recent announcment by Parks Director Willie Cardon that the new Riverfront park will have a 4,500 sq ft biking facility.
The report comes from the Cincinnati Business Courier on Friday July 25. Apparently the facility will include bike rentals, lockers and showers.

The first sign of green

Well folks, I think we finally have the tiniest seed of a commitment to go green on The Banks development.
In checking out the status for some other local Cincinnati green building projects, I noticed that Carter and The Dawson Company registered “100 Walnut at The Banks” as a LEED-CS project on July 1st.

Visualization of the buildings

The Enquirer ran an article yesterday showing visual representations of the first phase of the Banks project.

Personally, I’m a fan of the widened sidewalks which allow for more street cafe seating and awnings for shading from solar heating.

Central Riverfront Park to break ground this fall
