The first sign of green

Well folks, I think we finally have the tiniest seed of a commitment to go green on The Banks development.

In checking out the status for some other local Cincinnati green building projects, I noticed that Carter and The Dawson Company registered “100 Walnut at The Banks” as a LEED-CS project on July 1st.

LEED-CS is the US Green Building Council’s Core and Shell certification path.  This basically means that the developers intend to build the project to green building standards for the building envelope and bones.  It’s up to the tenants as to whether they will make their spaces as environmentally considerate once they move in.  The Commercial Interiors path (LEED-CI) would be what any interested renter in the 100 Walnut at The Banks should pursue so that the interior would also be LEED certified.

I’m not sure if you have to have a USGBC account to view this link, but here is the posting about 100 Walnut at The Banks.
